There are staples to professional baseball games. 1. The 7th inning stretch. 2. Balls going into the stands. 3. Salespeople both inside and outside of the stadium. These salespeople are trying to convince you to purchase snacks on the way into and during the game.
One of these salespeople is Paul White. White has been selling snacks at the Chicago Cubs games for years and has become one of the most successful salespeople in this position. Economics professor, Dr. Salyards, met White many times while attending Cubs games, and decided to invite him to WSU to show the students and faculty what it is like to sell in an environment like a Chicago Cubs game.
The event had game snacks, as well as some group conversations regarding White’s personal sales experience. White shared tips for attracting interest to the product the student is attempting to sell. This event highlights the initiative that the College of Business is taking to share real out of classroom experience with students at Winona State.
A huge shout out to Dr. Salyards and for Paul White for taking time out of his extremely busy life to share some insight with future salesmen and women at Winona State.
