The College of Business tells all students to, “get involved while you’re in school”, and that message resonated with Junior Geoff Curry. It helped Curry to realize that there was so much more to college than just academics. His favorite part of the College of Business is how dedicated the faculty is to each students success and encouraging campus involvement. Curry says that “I’ve been exposed to so many opportunities I would have never had if it weren’t for the dedication of the faculty. From the speakers they bring in that provide us with expertise on their industry, to the on-campus events put together for the College of Business, there is always opportunity to create your more, and the faculty does a great job encouraging that message.” Curry was able to create his more through Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) – a co-ed professional business fraternity on campus, where he has been able to grow as an individual, and a professional, as well as gain valuable leadership experience. Curry feels that the relationships, professional skills, and the knowledge he has gained through his courses and campus involvement has given him a business advantage for life that he looks forward to using in his career as a business professional.
Student of the Game, started in the Fall of 2017, highlights students who have worked to make the College of Business a better place for students and faculty. Recipients of the award are chosen by the Deans Advisory Board in coordination with College of Business faculty.
