Not many people can say they have a published article in an academic journal, especially when they are an undergraduate student. That’s not the case for Sarah Schake though. It all started when Schake took Dr. Jana Craft’s class in the spring of 2018, and researched the topic of Anoka County manufacturers. It was after she completed the class that Craft approached her about conducting an independent research project. This research project focused on looking at strategies to address challenges being faced in the manufacturing industry, exploring those currently in use and strategies that could be implemented.
The article titled “Job Applicants as the New Customer: Strategies for Successful Recruiting in Midwest Manufacturers” was published in the International Journal of Managerial Studies and Research (IJMSR), an open access, peer reviewed business journal. The article talks about the different strategies that are used for recruitment of workers into manufactuering jobs and delves into the many intricacies that are at play in the manufacturing job market.
