His teachings have been controversial at times ranging from topics such as death, relationships, assassinations, and every facet of humanity. Rogers believed that children\u2019s questions should never go unanswered and he provided ways of keeping children entertained as well as informed. This documentary will challenge what you \u201cthought\u201d you knew about the gently-singing, cardigan-wearing, soft-spoken, smiling persona so many of us grew up with.<\/p>\n<p>Viewers will be treated to admission behind the scenes of <em>Mister Rogers&#8217; Neighborhood<\/em>. We&#8217;ll take a walk together in Mister Rogers&#8217; neighborhood alongside our favorite puppet pals and meet the guests that have appeared on his show. The creation of the sets, memorable moments, and some controversy have given its founder, Fred Rogers, some unique opportunities to teach resilience to children throughout his career.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 1010px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pmcvariety.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/06\/morgan-neville.jpg?w=1000&amp;h=562&amp;crop=1\" alt=\"Image result for morgan neville\" width=\"1000\" height=\"562\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Director Morgan Neville of Won&#8217;t You Be My Neighbor?<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Morgan Neville, a veteran documentary filmmaker, is best known for producing and directing\u00a0<em>20 Feet from Stardom<\/em>\u00a0(2013) and\u00a0<em>Best of Enemies: Buckley vs. Vidal <\/em>(2015), both of which were highly-acclaimed and award-winning films.<\/p>\n<p>Winona State Film Studies students saw\u00a0<em>Won&#8217;t You Be My Neighbor?\u00a0<\/em>at the Mountainfilm Film Festival in Telluride Colorado this year.\u00a0 Their responses include&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;It hit me right in the feels.&#8221; &#8211; Kyra Beske<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;It is probably one of the best documentaries I&#8217;ve seen.&#8221; &#8211; Ben Glomski<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;I was excited when I saw it was in the programming and it blew my expectations away.&#8221; &#8211; Seth Lamey<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;It was great, very heartwarming and personal.&#8221; &#8211; Taylor Nasinec<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please join us in a free admission viewing of <em>Won\u2019t You Be My Neighbor<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pg\/wsufilmstudies\/events\/\">Saturday October 27<sup>th<\/sup> at 7pm in the Miller Auditorium (Stark Hall 103)<\/a>.
