Dear WSU Community:
Commencement is a celebration of achievement in which we recognize our graduating students and their families. The commencement ceremony reaffirms our public commitment as a community of learners improving our world.
I encourage all faculty and staff (Council of Administrators, members of the Inter-Faculty Organization (IFO) and members of MSUAASF and MAPE) to participate on Friday, May 8th in Memorial Hall, McCown Gymnasium. Two ceremonies will be held: The Colleges of Business and Liberal Arts will commence in the morning at 9:30 a.m. The Colleges of Education, Nursing & Health Sciences, and Science and Engineering will commence in the afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Please proudly wear your academic regalia.
Folks, YOUR personal involvement on this most important of our workdays is visible evidence of the value we place on academic excellence and the spirit of community. Students want to see YOU there, to thank YOU personally, to introduce YOU to their parents.
Participation in this glorious celebration is definitely both a service to our university and an expression of our professionalism. We are blessed with an opportunity to celebrate the results of our collective efforts as educators, support professionals, and leaders.
