What has been your favorite experience at WSU?
Choir camp has been my favorite experience at WSU. It’s a great time for the choir to bond, learn their music, and make new friends! Plus, the food is amazing at choir camp and the volunteer workers are lovely people.
What’s your favorite musical performance on the WSU campus?
I love singing at the Messiah Sing-In! It provides excellent opportunities for WSU students and the surrounding community to sing a large work with a professional orchestra. WSU Students also have the opportunity to interact and work with the high school honor choir that WSU hosts and they can even sing as soloists for Handel’s Messiah.
What’s been your favorite musical performance in the Winona community?
It’s been really fun singing with Winona’s vocal acapella group “Hear and Now”. As of Fall 2016 we are officially a Winona State club, which is really exciting! We sing at various places around Winona and even have an occasional group karaoke night.
What would you tell yourself on day one of your freshman year?
Slow down and ENJOY your college years! They will go by way too fast.
Any other thought or idea that you would like to include?
The music professors at WSU are top notch. I have learned so much from them during my time at WSU and I will be forever grateful.
